The Role of Fathers and Brothers in Menstrual Support
For too long, menstruation has been labeled a “women-only” issue, hidden behind closed doors. But the truth is, menstruation affects everyone, directly or indirectly. This is why fathers, brothers, uncles, and male friends have a crucial role to play.
🕳️ A father who openly buys pads for his daughter communicates that periods are normal, not shameful.
🕳️ A brother who speaks against period stigma helps his sister walk with confidence.
🕳️A husband or partner who supports his wife during her menstrual struggles shows love in its truest form.
When men are included in conversations about menstrual health, society begins to shift. Stigma reduces. Girls feel less ashamed. Menstruation becomes a family conversation, not a private burden.
Menstrual health is human health. It’s time to normalize men standing up as allies, advocates, and supporters in this important journey.
